Think Pink: Fanciful Breast Cancer Fundraiser at the Falcon

As we start the ramp-up into Breast Cancer Awareness month, prepare to be overwhelmed with an onslaught of pink– both BCA-themed events and pink products. The LA Breast Cancer Fundraiser got an early jump on the month, and they kicked it into high gear with a rollicking party at the Falcon. Highlights included the burlesque antics of Hell’s Belles, as well as fanciful installations with models wearing Leg Avenue Lingerie, Tarina Tarantino jewelry, and hair styled by Hairroin Salon. We’ve never seen so many people with bright pink hair in the same place, at the same time. (Yes, the highest-profile pinkhead, Tarina Tarantino, was in the house, as well.) We’re bad at estimating crowds, but there were easily 500 people who showed up to drink liquid nitrogen cocktails, ogle the scantily clad models, and support the cause. The pretty, polished and pink affair was doubly impressive, since just a few short years ago the fundraiser started off as a backyard party for 30 people. You’ve come a long way, baby!

The Breast Cancer Fundraiser Celebrates Its Biggest Event Of The Year

The 8th Annual OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser Presented by CosmetiCare Plastic Surgery & Med Spa

Newport Beach, CA – March 8, 2011:

The young professionals of Orange County clear their busy schedule each year for the swanky cocktail party known as the OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser, and this year is no different. Over 400 people will gather at Sutra on Saturday, April 2nd 2011 for an evening of sensational libations, talented artists, dancing, and more.

The amount of energy surging to this night has long-time supporters and new faces excited for all that is in store. Sutra has graciously donated their cutting edge space as well as a hosted specialty bar for the first hour. As guests mingle with cocktail in hand, there will be plenty of entertainment to keep the vivacity high. Special guest MC and professional skier, Luke Van Valin, will host the event with his whit and charm while making sure guests don’t miss a beat during the entertainment packed night. As the talented Cameron Rafati performs a few favorite hits and DJ Shares shakes the turntables in between, attendees will be able to view an oceanography themed photography exhibition by Joshua Kast that is sure to make waves! Bold statements are welcome at the Coors Light Confessional, where guests will get 15 seconds to confess on camera what a woman means to them. The fun doesn’t stop there, give-a-ways by Hudson Jeans, Michael Stars, Oakley, and other amazing contributors will be offered throughout the night. A highlight guests do not want to miss is the special tribute planned for a 31-year- old two-time breast cancer fighter who is being honored by a 27 year-old breast cancer survivor.

Produced by the premier Southern California event agency, Kapture Vision, this event is sure to create memories and experiences to last. The purpose is to throw a great party, for an important cause, and actually raise money that will go directly to a credible organization like Susan G Komen for the Cure.

New York City, NY – August 19, 2010: October 15, 2010 marks the highly anticipated, social event of
the year when THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser makes its inaugural debut in the city of lights! Thrilled to

come to the luminous city to bring inspiration and motivation to New York’s young professionals in the

This inspiring fundraiser is being hosted at the modern and exclusive La Pomme Nightclub, who has
generously donated the entire venue toward the cause! This prominent and trendy event will light up La
Pomme saturating it from head-to-toe in the color of the night, PINK! Guests will arrive and walk into

Saturday, May 1st 2010 marks the highly anticipated night of The 7th Annual OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser, one of the best social events of the year.

With the goal of raising $20,000 for the Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, this highly respected and trendy event will be taken to a more prominent platform for 2010. The 7th Annual OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser is being hosted at the Hyatt Regency Pavilion in Irvine and will be adorned head-to-toe in the perfect shade of the night… PINK! Guests will arrive to a dazzling pavilion saturated in LED lighting and illuminated lounge furniture provided by Izanagi Designs, and will be treated to a cocktail hour with soothing sounds featuring pianist and singer, Kristen Meadors.

Holly Morgan Designs has generously contributed $1,000 toward the cause and will be introducing their latest ultra-lux threads by embracing the femininity being celebrated on this special evening. A unique still-model fashion show, supported by hair and makeup students from Salon Success, will entertain guests in the early part of the evening and an exclusive trunk show to follow afterwards.

Pink themed specialty cocktails will be available while guests sip and stroll the 6,000 sq.ft. white tented space and enjoy the remarkable talent of artists like Martha Martin who will be exhibiting her latest painting collections, Heartbreak and Love.

A Nationwide Social Gathering Celebrating Philanthropic Outreach Incorporating Art, Entertainment & Empowerment

Newport Beach, CA – January 12, 2010:

For the past six years, The OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser has touched the lives of many and raised over $50,000 in support of one of the world’s leading diseases. Orange County’s community of young professionals have contributed countless hours of support in making this fundraiser one of the fastest growing and highly anticipated events in Southern California. With such an overwhelming and powerful response, THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser was established in Spring-2009 in an effort to multiply what has come about in Orange County, to spread across 20 metropolitan U.S. cities. Last year, we introduced additional chapters in San Francisco and the Inland Empire.

What was once a backyard gathering of 50 guests with aspiration to supply philanthropic education to a young 20’s crowd has transpired to a leading breast cancer fundraiser in Southern California with an attendance of over 500 guests annually, predominately targeted for guests between the age of 21-40. Each event is unique to its community by incorporating local entertainers, businesses, and honorees who are either breast cancer survivors or fighters. This highly acclaimed event was founded by Nilo G., an OC native who at 19 years old, felt there was a lack of consciousness amongst her peers and decided to do something about it. Over the years, the event has grown significantly not only monetarily but also by implementing a five-year plan, establishing over 20 chapters across the country.

“I am often asked why I chose breast cancer as the cause to fight for. Why has this become such a passion of mine? My response is simple – all suffering is tragic whether it’s cancer, poverty, starvation, or disease. The reason why I centered in on breast cancer is because of the high level of respect I have for a woman and the influential roles she plays in life. As mother, wife, friend, leader, and colleague she shares a unique love only a woman know how to show. When such a disease not only attacks her existence but also her femininity, beauty, and energy it has the power to take down her entire spirit. The consequence is severe, because not only does breast cancer attack an individual’s chance to live but it also challenges the many loved ones surrounding him or her as they fight their battle. As the event grows each year, I continue to meet many people who have experienced the emotional journey that a breast cancer diagnoses causes. It is what continues to motivate me to find a cure,” explained Nilo G.

Through the continued growth and success of this event, she hopes to spread awareness among young women, raise money to help breast cancer fighters in need, further breast cancer research, and ultimately be a part finding a cure.

With the intention of spreading awareness and promoting philanthropic involvement among a generation of men and women under the age of 40, THE Breast Cancer Fundraiser is emerging in major cities across the nation to broaden its following and create a splash in the non-profit world. Spring 2010 will mark the inaugural San Diego Breast Cancer Fundraiser as well as The 7th Annual OC Breast Cancer Fundraiser. Later in the year we will introduce the New York City chapter for the first time, and celebrate the 2nd Annual IE and Nor Cal Breast Cancer Fundraisers.
